New Floats, Food and Festive Entertainment Highlight 9th Annual Family-Friendly Event

SAN ANTONIO, TX — January 9, 2025 — Six Flags Fiesta Texas is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Mardi Gras Festival, now Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration, running select dates from January 18 through March 16. This year’s event promises to be the most spectacular yet with the largest Mardi Gras Parade in park history, authentic New Orleans-style entertainment, and an expanded Taste of Mardi Gras food festival—all in a family-friendly setting.

The biggest Mardi Gras Parade in park history serves as the celebration’s centerpiece, featuring five brand-new, intricately designed floats alongside larger-than-life returning favorites. This expanded procession dazzles with mesmerizing street performers and an electrifying original musical score that captures the rhythm and magic of New Orleans. Guests are invited to join in the excitement by dancing, singing and merrymaking at interactive stops, making the parade an immersive experience for guests of all ages. 

Food lovers can feast their eyes and tastebuds on the Taste of Mardi Gras food festival, offering a new, authentic culinary journey through Louisiana’s iconic flavors. With more festival locations than ever before, guests can savor classics like gumbo, jambalaya and beignets while discovering bold new flavors like Bacon Boudin Bites and Frozen Hurricanes. The festival’s diverse menu celebrates the distinctive and flavorful traditions of New Orleans cuisine.

Live entertainment brings the energy of New Orleans to San Antonio, with brand-new original shows and returning favorites spread throughout the park. Highlights include the debut of The Fleur de Lis, The GummBeaux and The Voo Doo Dolls.  Located in Rockville High, The Voo Doo Dolls immerses guests in an authentic New Orleans-style journey that blends music, dance, and storytelling in a captivating, high-energy show. Aerialists, interactive character meet-and-greets, and other performances across 10 entertainment locations ensure nonstop excitement for all ages.

Adding an air of mystique, the Houngan House of Voodoo invites guests to step into a world of wonder and intrigue. This walk-through attraction, included with park admission, takes guests inside a cursed French Quarter shop of curiosities filled with magical dolls, potions, charms and gris-gris.

New this year, families can enjoy Mardi’s Craft Corner, offering complimentary activities such as creating festival-themed masks and a massive color-by-number mural. Guests of all ages can contribute to the mural, turning it into a collaborative work of art while taking home their own Mardi Gras-themed crafts.
