Six Flags Over Texas' Summer Nights Spectacular takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings now through August 12. Guests can enjoy specialty foods, live entertainment, fireworks displays, photo ops and more. Our visit through the park also highlights the reopening of Pirates of Speelunker Cave, Casa Magnetica and other attractions that recently underwent refurbishment.

Daily summer operations have begun at Six Flags Over Texas, but that doesn't mean TLC projects have slowed down. We also take a look at the completed El Sombrero paint job, head to Pirates of Speelunker Cave for a quick update, enjoy some new food offerings and talk about summer entertainment.

Join the fun with our Six Flags Over Texas Selfie Scavenger Hunt. This free event takes place Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This event is for kids of all ages. Mr. Freeze, a Premier Rides LIM launch coaster, officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas in 1998. In 2023, the iconic attraction celebrates its 25th anniversary! Mr. Freeze begins by launching riders from 0 to 70 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds. Soon after, the attraction travels through a top hat inversion, into an overbanked turn and up the 218-foot tall spike. What happens next? Riders complete the whole circuit backwards! With two inversions and a track length of only 1,300 feet, Mr. Freeze's ride experience lasts under one minute.

Several roller coasters and attractions are planned to open after lengthy refurbishments and upgrades, including The Joker, Runaway Mine Train, El Sombrero and Pirates of Speelunker Cave. On top of new food offerings at existing dining locations, Six Flags Over Texas has also teamed with Cinnabon to bring the popular brand into the park. Plus, we check out more ¡Viva la Fiesta! event festivities, which takes place on weekends now through May 7.

¡Viva la Fiesta! takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates now through May 7. The event features vibrant decor, several live entertainment offerings and specialty food items. The park also continues to work on improvements as El Sombrero begins an extensive refurbishment, the Mexico section sees new theming enhancements, ride lockers arrive at Aquaman: Power Wave, a second Roller Coaster Coffee location is teased and more.

Aquaman: Power Wave is the first ride of its kind to debut in North America. Built by Mack Rides, this high-thrill PowerSplash attraction features both forwards and backwards launches, reaching top speeds of sixty-three miles per hour. The water coaster also includes two spikes that stand at 148 feet tall and send riders plummeting ninety degrees. After multiple launches along the attraction’s 712-foot track, Aquaman: Power Wave ends with a huge splashdown.

Upgrades continue to take place at Six Flags Over Texas, including fresh paint, more flat ride refurbishments, new dining locations and food offerings and the addition of free ride lockers to select attractions. New for 2023, Six Flags Over Texas debuts their Scream Break event. Taking place during their Spring Break celebration, this new nighttime event features access to Aquaman: Power Wave, rides, sideshow entertainment acts, haunted houses, a scare zone and more.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, unveils one of the most highly anticipated new attractions of the year, AQUAMAN™: Power Wave, on March 11, 2023. The new multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America. The ride opens this weekend to park guests just in time for Spring Break and Scream Break.

Six Flags Over Texas announced today that passholder previews will take place for the all-new Aquaman: Power Wave roller coaster on two weekends leading up to the ride’s grand opening. When it opens, the high-thrill Aquaman: Power Wave water coaster will be the first ride of its kind to debut in North America.

With the opening of Aquaman: Power Wave right around the corner, crews are actively testing the ride during our visit. Join us for an in-depth look at the ride's mechanics and insane splashdown. We also discuss the permanent closure of Harley Quinn Spinsanity, along with other park improvement projects and the all-new Scream Break event.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, announces the grand opening of one of the most highly anticipated new attractions of the year. The new AQUAMAN: Power Wave multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America and opens to park guests on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

This weekend, Six Flags Over Texas confirmed via Twitter the permanent closure of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. Harley Quinn Spinsanity officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018 as part of the park’s newer Gotham City area expansion. Harley Quinn Spinsanity featured a unique triple box design, creating the ability to spin around on three different axes at the same time.

Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2, with the Holiday Market being available until December 23.

Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.
