Worlds of Fun theme park, located in Kansas City, MO, originally opened in 1973, themed to the book, "Around the World in Eighty Days." The unique park features themed areas not commonly found in North America, such as Scandinavia and East Asia. Worlds of Fun is home to Patriot, which opened as the tallest, fastest and longest inverted coaster in the region. In 2009, the park opened the Prowler wooden roller coaster, which was awarded "Best New Ride of 2009" by Amusement Today. In 2023, Zambezi Zinger opened as the world's first ground-up GCI Titan Track wooden coaster.

Carowinds theme park, which originally opened in 1973, is a unique attraction located on the border of North and South Carolina. The name Carowinds is in reference to the winds that blow across the two states. The park's original theme was centered around the history and culture of the Carolinas. Today, Carowinds is home to several high-thrill and record-breaking attractions, such as Intimidator and Fury 325. For its 50th anniversary, Carowinds debuted the Aeronautica landing area with a refreshed theme and several new attractions.
Ride Spotlight - Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger, the world's steepest B&M dive coaster, officially opened on July 30, 2022 at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The park's 11th roller coaster, Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger reaches speeds of 60 miles per hour and a height of 150 feet. Riders are hung over the attraction's 95-degree first drop before plummeting down and into two inversions.
Dr. D's Cliffhanger Indoor Queue Walk-Through, Fright Fest Setup Begins | Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger has officially opened, which means we were able to take a tour of her secret lab. Join us for an in-depth look at the attraction's themed indoor queue segment. Other 30th anniversary park improvements, such as painting projects, continue. Fright Fest preparations are also under way with multiple scare zones and themed areas popping up all around the park.

Montu POV, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay | First Coaster Ever to Feature an Immelmann Loop
Montu is a record-breaking inverted coaster that opened at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on May 16, 1996. The attraction, built by B&M, was the first inverted coaster to feature 7 inversions and an Immelmann loop. Montu stands 150 feet high and reaches speeds of 60 miles per hour with a track length of 3,983 feet.
Kumba POV - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay | World's First Coaster With Interlocking Corkscrews
Kumba first opened at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on April 20, 1993. This steel B&M coaster features a height of 143 feet and top speeds of 60 miles per hour. Along with being the first coaster to feature interlocking corkscrews, Kumba sends riders through a total of 7 inversions. Kumba also featured the tallest vertical loop when it opened, which has the rare attribute of wrapping itself around the ride's lift hill.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas heads into their second decade of operation in the 2000s with the addition of the record-breaking Superman Krypton Coaster. Other large additions to Fiesta Texas during this decade include multiple water slide attractions, Tony Hawk's Big Spin and Goliath. Live entertainment was a staple of the park during the 2000s as they'd produce over a dozen shows each season and take home Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Award for "Best Theme Park Shows" on numerous occasions.

Six Flags Over Texas saw massive expansions throughout the 1990s. Roller coasters like Mr. Freeze and Batman: The Ride, along with the addition of the Gotham City park area, highlight this decade.
