All three of Six Flags Fiesta Texas' new DC Universe rides have been seen testing, with us catching Cyborg: Cyber Revolution and Shazam! Tower of Eternity in action. Near the front of the work, Goliath continues its transformation into the Chupacabra roller coaster with a refresh of the entry portal fountain. In Rockville, tons of dining changes are coming soon, including a ground-up remodel of Pete's Eats and new drink refill stations.

Returning favorites include ¡Viva la Fiesta! and Fright Fest, while Summerbration and Star Spangled Nights make their debut.

2025 is here and Six Flags Over Texas is hard at work on several projects. Demolition of La Vibora and El Diablo continue on, while other refurbishment projects around the park are under way. Titan, the park's biggest roller coaster, is also undergoing a transformation with a fresh paint scheme.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Mardi Gras Festival, now Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration, running select dates from January 18 through March 16. This year’s event promises to be the most spectacular yet with the largest Mardi Gras Parade in park history, authentic New Orleans-style entertainment, and an expanded Taste of Mardi Gras food festival—all in a family-friendly setting.

A late December visit to Six Flags Over Texas shows the rapid progress being made on the demolition of the La Vibora bobsled roller coaster. The last of its kind, La Vibora had operated at the park since 1986. Its removal is part of new investment, which is highlighted by a record-breaking dive coaster to open in 2026. Work continues to take place on Six Flags Fiesta Texas' DC Universe expansion. Trains for the Metropolis Transit Authority have been installed, while Shazam! Tower of Eternity is now vertical and Poison Ivy Toxic Spin has reopened. On top of a behind-the-scenes tour of DC Universe, we also take a look at the Batman: The Ride refurbishment, the updates coming soon to Goliath and the return of higher-end food offerings in the park's VIP Lounge.

Holiday in the Park has returned to Six Flags Over Texas now through December 31. This year's event features nearly a dozen new entertainment offerings, including FROST in Southern Palace Theatre and Holly Jolly Trolley. Family activities feature visits and photos with Santa Claus, the new North Pole Post Office and interactions with Mrs. Claus. For older guests, brave the Krampus in Paradise haunted house and enjoy an adult beverage in the reimagined Merry Marketplace.

North Texas’ premier Christmas event, Holiday in the Park®, returns to Six Flags Over Texas bigger, brighter, and better than ever. This year’s festival will feature seven new shows and four new seasonal activities for the whole family, partnered with fan favorites such as photos with Santa, thrilling rides and dazzling lights. Holiday in the Park opens Sunday, Nov. 24 and runs weekends and select weekdays through Dec. 31. 

Six Flags Over Texas will receive an array of theme park enhancements in 2025 and Hurricane Harbor Arlington will debut the largest investment in park history with the introduction of a massive interactive kids area, Splash Island. In a groundbreaking announcement, Six Flags also revealed that a record-breaking dive roller coaster will launch at the Arlington theme park in 2026.

Howl-O-Scream, SeaWorld San Antonio's Halloween event, has returned in 2024 on select dates through October 27. This year's spooky festivities include the return of six free haunted houses, along with new terror-tories that feature unique monsters and creepy creatures. Both Oktoberfest Food Festival and Fright Fest feature several specialty items this year, including German favorites, hauntingly spicy entrees and enough dessert to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. Oktoberfest Food Festival and Fright Fest both take place through the beginning of November.

SeaWorld San Antonio recently announced the new Rescue Jr. area for 2025 and work is already well under way for the transformation. Super Grover's Box Car Racers has been demolished to make way for the new Beach Rescue Racer roller coaster, while other structures within the area have also been removed.

Kids Boo Fest returns to Six Flags Over Texas for another season of family-friendly, daytime Halloween fun. This year's event includes the return of several interactive activities, including scream and costume contests. Kids Boo Fest visitors can also trek down the expansive trick or treat trail, enjoy daily foam parties in Bugs Bunny Boomtown and catch the Looney Tunes Halloween dance party at Silver Star Carousel Stage.

Fright Fest is jam-packed in 2024 at Six Flags Over Texas with the return of live entertainment, monster-filled scare zones and haunted houses. This year's haunted house line-up features several popular horror themes, including Stranger Things, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, SAW and Trick 'r Treat. Dr. H.H. Holmes' Freak Show has come back to Southern Palace Theatre, while shows at the park entrance have seen a refresh. Other themed entertainment, including Dia de los Muertos and a spooky rendition of the gunfighters, have also debuted for this year's Fright Fest.

The State Fair of Texas officially began in 1886 and has operated nearly every year since then. Running only a few weeks, the fair features over 277 acres of exhibits, rides and attractions, along with unique food line-ups and entertainment. This year's food offerings include the drowning taquitos, the new hammy pimento meltdown sandwich and the Strawberry Pop-Tarts beignetffle. SeaWorld San Antonio today unveiled its plans for an ALL-NEW friendly world of discovery, the Rescue Jr. hub, set to open Spring 2025. This immersive, hands-on adventure zone will transport young guests into the heart of SeaWorld’s animal rescue efforts, where they’ll tackle immersive rides, conquer towering climbing structures, splash through vibrant water features and bring to life the rescue and rehabilitation work the SeaWorld team does.

Our most recent visit to Six Flags Over Texas, which was meant to cover the Oktoberfest Food Festival, Kids Boo Fest and additional Fright Fest activities, was cut short when we were denied access due to our camera. We've brought this camera into the park several times, including just two nights before, to cover the park as it doesn't violate any posted rules. Nobody from Six Flags was equipped to provide us with documentation regarding what their actual camera policy is.
