The State Fair of Texas officially began in 1886 and has operated nearly every year since then. Running only a few weeks, the fair features over 277 acres of exhibits, rides and attractions, along with unique food line-ups and entertainment. This year's food offerings include the drowning taquitos, the new hammy pimento meltdown sandwich and the Strawberry Pop-Tarts beignetffle.
