Lost Island Theme Park Tour & Review | Immersive Themed Lands & Rides, Plus New Coaster for 2025
Lost Island Theme Park, one of North America's newest parks, opened in 2022 in Waterloo, Iowa. The park is themed to an enchanted tropical island with incredibly immersive areas and rides to match. To date, Lost Island is home to three roller coasters, including Nopuko Air Coaster and Matugani and an award-winning dark ride, Volkanu: Quest for the Golden Idol. During our visit, the park announced their 2025 addition, a RMC Raptor roller coaster named Fire Runner.
Iron Gwazi POV, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay | World's Steepest & Fastest Hybrid Roller Coaster
Opened on March 11, 2022 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Iron Gwazi holds the record for the world's steepest and fastest hybrid roller coaster! Iron Gwazi reaches heights of 206 feet with a top speed of 76 miles per hour. Featuring 12 airtime points, the coaster also features a Barrel Roll Downdrop and Zero-G Stall, making it one of the most intense coasters in America.

Day five of Coaster Con 43 sees us spending the first half of the day at Dorney Park where we enjoy two catered meals, more exclusive ride time on roller coasters, rides on both of their in-park trains and more. Afterwards, we head to both Sesame Place and Six Flags Great Adventure to pick up a few more coaster credits.

In 2011, however, Rocky Mountain Construction transformed the wooden coaster in to the first-ever hybrid roller coaster: New Texas Giant. New Texas Giant features a 79-degree first drop, speeds of up to 65 miles per hour, and tons of air time elements.
