New for 2022 is the Oktoberfest Food Festival at Six Flags Over Texas. Taking place now through October 30, Oktoberfest features a number of German-inspired food items and beers. Fright Fest continues to take shape at Six Flags Over Texas with confirmed haunted houses, shows and scare zones. Pirates of Speelunker Cave opened at Six Flags Over Texas on May 14, 2022. Riders board the attraction and venture into Speelunker Cave. Soon enough, you are greeted by a band of pirates looking for lost treasure. Upon bracing a storm, a kraken, mermaids and more, the exploration takes riders deep into Speelunker territory.

We take an end-of-summer visit to Six Flags Over Texas. Daily operation has concluded, which means the park is hard at work with new improvements and Fright Fest installations. A lap around the park reveals confirmed live entertainment and haunted house offerings that will be coming to the park this year. We also explore the park's single rider line situation with new updates regarding availability.

Though the opening of Aquaman: Power Wave has been delayed another year, construction still marches on. The ride's first boat has been installed, along with station and splashdown components. Pirates of Speelunker Cave is a re-imagining of one of the park’s first attractions, The Cave, that operated from 1964 until 1991 and replaces the current version of the attraction—Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure. The Cave featured original characters called Speelunkers that were created exclusively for Six Flags Over Texas. The new ride features projection and immersive sets, custom soundtrack, sixty-four Speelunkers and no height requirement with an accompanying adult.

A visit to Six Flags Over Texas unveils the removal of all single rider lines at various attractions, along with a big update on current ride closures. We also follow up on the major dining and restaurant changes taking place, along with great construction updates for both Aquaman: Power Wave and Pirates of Speelunker Cave.

After a hiatus, we head to Six Flags Over Texas and encounter a number of new in-park changes. Fresh paint continues to hit several buildings around the park. We also point out multiple new dining locations coming soon, issues with new offerings at other restaurants, the shuffling of some in-park services and the addition of single rider lines. Finally, Pirates of Speelunker Cave looks to be opening soon as crews continue working hard on Aquaman: Power Wave.

Construction on new 2022 attractions continues as the entrance to Pirates of Speelunker Cave takes shape and the pad for Aquaman: Power Wave's turntable emerges. We also take a look at several other park improvements, including more building and infrastructure upgrades, enhancements to the Silver Star Carousel building, a look at the quick progress made on the new Looney Tunes Mall facade and more.

Our next episode in the Six Flags Over Texas Decade in Review Series takes a look at 1970 through 1979. Several transformations happened around the park, including a change in the skyline with the addition of Texas Chute Out and the debut of Good Time Square. Other prime attractions included the Big Bend and Shock Wave roller coasters, along with marquee flat rides like Spinnaker. Entertainment was also a big focus in the 1970s with the construction of Music Mill Amphitheater and People Mover Theatre and several Broadway-style productions in Southern Palace Theatre.

Holiday in the Park is in full swing at Six Flags Over Texas. This year's holiday event features a slate of completely new entertainment offerings, including Christmas at the Southern Palace and the Holly Jolly Holiday Parade. We also check out the park's all-new Christmas tree, specialty food offerings, the Nochebuena overlay at Casa Magnetica, decor, holiday activities and more.

Construction projects at Six Flags Over Texas continue to move at a rapid pace. Work has picked up on Aquaman: Power Wave and its addition of a turntable and crews continue to prep the all-new Pirates of Speelunker Cave dark ride. The new Mr. Freeze paint job has also progressed, along with several building refurbishments, especially in the park's Old South section. Six Flags Over Texas also continues the parking lot makeover and construction of a new perimeter fence.

Six Flags Over Texas has taken on a number of huge construction and improvement projects throughout the park. Six Flags Over Texas has announced that several multi-million dollar projects are now under way at the park! These include a new Looney Tunes Mall facade, a third train for Batman: The Ride, a $2 million enhancement for the parking lot, paint projects for the park's major attractions and more. We also take an exclusive tour of the Aquaman: Power Wave construction site. This all-new roller coaster is scheduled to open by the end of summer 2022.
