Mr. Freeze, a Premier Rides LIM launch coaster, officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas in 1998. In 2023, the iconic attraction celebrates its 25th anniversary! Mr. Freeze begins by launching riders from 0 to 70 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds. Soon after, the attraction travels through a top hat inversion, into an overbanked turn and up the 218-foot tall spike. What happens next? Riders complete the whole circuit backwards! With two inversions and a track length of only 1,300 feet, Mr. Freeze's ride experience lasts under one minute.

Several roller coasters and attractions are planned to open after lengthy refurbishments and upgrades, including The Joker, Runaway Mine Train, El Sombrero and Pirates of Speelunker Cave. On top of new food offerings at existing dining locations, Six Flags Over Texas has also teamed with Cinnabon to bring the popular brand into the park. ¡Viva la Fiesta! takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates now through May 7. The event features vibrant decor, several live entertainment offerings and specialty food items. The park also continues to work on improvements as El Sombrero begins an extensive refurbishment, the Mexico section sees new theming enhancements, ride lockers arrive at Aquaman: Power Wave, a second Roller Coaster Coffee location is teased and more.

Aquaman: Power Wave is the first ride of its kind to debut in North America. Built by Mack Rides, this high-thrill PowerSplash attraction features both forwards and backwards launches, reaching top speeds of sixty-three miles per hour. The water coaster also includes two spikes that stand at 148 feet tall and send riders plummeting ninety degrees. After multiple launches along the attraction’s 712-foot track, Aquaman: Power Wave ends with a huge splashdown.

Upgrades continue to take place at Six Flags Over Texas, including fresh paint, more flat ride refurbishments, new dining locations and food offerings and the addition of free ride lockers to select attractions. The new multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America. The ride opens this weekend to park guests just in time for Spring Break and Scream Break.

Six Flags Over Texas announced today that passholder previews will take place for the all-new Aquaman: Power Wave roller coaster on two weekends leading up to the ride’s grand opening. When it opens, the high-thrill Aquaman: Power Wave water coaster will be the first ride of its kind to debut in North America.

Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America and opens to park guests on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

This weekend, Six Flags Over Texas confirmed via Twitter the permanent closure of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. Harley Quinn Spinsanity officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018 as part of the park’s newer Gotham City area expansion. Harley Quinn Spinsanity featured a unique triple box design, creating the ability to spin around on three different axes at the same time.

Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2, with the Holiday Market being available until December 23.

Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.

We are less than a week out from the beginning of Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. While a handful of details have been released, we take a loop around the park to piece together other event clues. Fright Fest 2022 takes place now through October 31 at Six Flags Over Texas.
