Six Flags Over Texas celebrates 50 million riders on the classic Shock Wave roller coaster with a ceremony featuring a ribbon cutting, giveaways and special behind-the-scenes tour. We also show off the quick construction progress taking place for the return of Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters and the new Sylvester & Tweety Pounce and Bounce. Six Flags Over Texas is also celebrating Spring Break through March 17 with live entertainment, decor and specialty food items.

ix Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced the park’s lineup of thrilling spring events, featuring live performances by local musicians, a vintage-inspired haunt, a rare total solar eclipse, a major milestone for a classic ride, and a celebration of Latin American culture.
Schwarzkopf's Big Bend Roller Coaster | History of Six Flags Series
Big Bend, a Schwarzkopf Speed Racer roller coaster, called Six Flags Over Texas home from 1971 to 1979. When it opened, it was the park's tallest and fastest roller coaster. Big Bend reached a top speed of 52 miles per hour, climbed up to 81 feet tall and featured 2,876 feet of track. Six Flags Over Texas Announces 2024 Park Improvements
Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced new park enhancements for the 2024 season. One new ride, Sylvester and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, and one returning ride, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, will be coming to the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park Memorial Day weekend. A retheming of the classic Chaparral Antique Cars into Dino Off Road Adventure will follow later in the summer.
Multiple Ride Removals, New Dining Upgrades, Bizarre Parking Layout | Six Flags Over Texas Updates
Our visit to Six Flags Over Texas begins with a bizarre new layout for entering the park's parking lot. Two New Children’s Rides, Other Improvements Coming to Six Flags Over Texas in 2024
Six Flags Over Texas recently filed a project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that includes $2 million worth of upgrades for their Bugs Bunny Boomtown area. The scope of work described is for new paving and foundations for two new rides in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park.

The original Six Flags theme park, Six Flags Over Texas, officially opened on August 5, 1961. Themed around the six flags that had flown over Texas, the park's original concept featured first-of-its-kind attractions, heavily-themed areas and a major focus on entertainment and guest experience. Six Flags Over Texas saw tremendous growth in the 1960s. UNCONFIRMED CANCELLATION: Six Flags Over Texas Unveils the El Rio Lento Log Flume Ride for 2024
Though Six Flags Over Texas has not made an official announcement (and may not), the new 2024 El Rio Lento project appears to be quietly cancelled. Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil El Rio Lento, one of the world’s longest log flumes. A makeover of the world’s first-ever log ride, El Aserradero, El Rio Lento will feature one new lift hill and two big drops, including a steep nosedive.
Piggy's Blood Shed Haunted House Behind-the-Scenes Tour & POV | Six Flags Over Texas Fright Fest
Fright Fest takes place at Six Flags Over Texas now through October 31. Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Piggy's Blood Shed haunt, along with a full POV of the house in action. Introduced in 2012, come into Piggy's restaurant for a home-cooked meal only to realize you are the prime entree to be served on the restaurant menu! A staple to the park’s house line-up, guests entering will experience high-intensity scares and Piggy’s favorite friends.

The Oktoberfest Food Festival has returned to Six Flags Over Texas on select dates from September 2 to October 31. Taking place along the park’s Smith Street and Old South area, the festival features a number of German-inspired food and adult beverage options with expanded menus for 2023. This year's event also features new live entertainment, photo opportunities and games, such as cornhole and shuffleboard.

Ride Spotlight: Multi-Angle POV - Pirates of Speelunker Cave, Six Flags Over Texas | 2023 Changes & Upgrades
Pirates of Speelunker Cave opened at Six Flags Over Texas on May 14, 2022 and sees many new changes for its grand reopening in 2023. Can you spot them all? Riders board the attraction and venture into Speelunker Cave. Soon enough, you are greeted by a band of pirates looking for lost treasure. Upon bracing a storm, a kraken, mermaids and more, the exploration takes riders deep into Speelunker territory. Over 60 Speelunkers greet guests with a custom soundtrack, projections and other effects. In the end, the pirates of no match for the Speelunkers and fail their treasure-hunting mission. Join us for a multi-angle POV of this attraction that revitalizes the classic Six Flags Over Texas character.
