Our visit to Six Flags Over Texas begins with a bizarre new layout for entering the park's parking lot. Once inside, our full tour of the park includes information about current ride closures and refurbishment projects, along with a look at the new dining upgrades at All American Cafe and Johnny Rockets. Plenty of activity is also taking place inside Bugs Bunny Boomtown with the recent removal of two attractions.

Two New Children’s Rides, Other Improvements Coming to Six Flags Over Texas in 2024
Six Flags Over Texas recently filed a project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that includes $2 million worth of upgrades for their Bugs Bunny Boomtown area. The scope of work described is for new paving and foundations for two new rides in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park.

Piggy's Blood Shed Haunted House Behind-the-Scenes Tour & POV | Six Flags Over Texas Fright Fest
Fright Fest takes place at Six Flags Over Texas now through October 31. Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Piggy's Blood Shed haunt, along with a full POV of the house in action. Introduced in 2012, come into Piggy's restaurant for a home-cooked meal only to realize you are the prime entree to be served on the restaurant menu! A staple to the park’s house line-up, guests entering will experience high-intensity scares and Piggy’s favorite friends.

Fright Fest 2023 at Six Flags Over Texas - Amazing Scare Actors, Several New Haunts & Shows
Fright Fest has returned to Six Flags Over Texas and takes place on select dates through October 31. This year's event features two new haunted houses, five new scare zones, several exciting new entertainment offerings and decor spread throughout the park. Our adventure takes a look at these new shows, the locations of haunted houses and in-depth travels through scare zones.

Kids Boo Fest 2023 at Six Flags Over Texas, Plus Daytime Scare Zone Walk-Throughs
Kids Boo Fest, Six Flags Over Texas' family-friendly Halloween celebration, takes place on Saturdays and Sundays through October 29. The event features costume contests, the Crazy Hay Maze, a trick-or-treat trail, Looney Tunes dance parties and more. We also take a daytime tour of all seven of the park's Fright Fest scare zones.

Oktoberfest Returns to Six Flags Over Texas With Even More Food Offerings & Live Entertainment
The Oktoberfest Food Festival has returned to Six Flags Over Texas on select dates from September 2 to October 31. Taking place along the park’s Smith Street and Old South area, the festival features a number of German-inspired food and adult beverage options with expanded menus for 2023. This year's event also features new live entertainment, photo opportunities and games, such as cornhole and shuffleboard.

Ride Spotlight: Multi-Angle POV - Pirates of Speelunker Cave, Six Flags Over Texas | 2023 Changes & Upgrades
Pirates of Speelunker Cave opened at Six Flags Over Texas on May 14, 2022 and sees many new changes for its grand reopening in 2023. Can you spot them all? Riders board the attraction and venture into Speelunker Cave. Soon enough, you are greeted by a band of pirates looking for lost treasure. Upon bracing a storm, a kraken, mermaids and more, the exploration takes riders deep into Speelunker territory. Over 60 Speelunkers greet guests with a custom soundtrack, projections and other effects. In the end, the pirates of no match for the Speelunkers and fail their treasure-hunting mission. Join us for a multi-angle POV of this attraction that revitalizes the classic Six Flags Over Texas character.

How to Stay Cool at Six Flags Over Texas During Summer, SPLASH Water Parade Returns with New Floats
Summers in Texas are no joke and the triple-digit temperatures will continue for quite a while. Ride Spotlight - Mr. Freeze at Six Flags Over Texas | Coaster's 25th Anniversary
Mr. Freeze, a Premier Rides LIM launch coaster, officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas in 1998. In 2023, the iconic attraction celebrates its 25th anniversary! Mr. Freeze begins by launching riders from 0 to 70 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds. Soon after, the attraction travels through a top hat inversion, into an overbanked turn and up the 218-foot tall spike. What happens next? Riders complete the whole circuit backwards! With two inversions and a track length of only 1,300 feet, Mr. Freeze's ride experience lasts under one minute.

¡Viva la Fiesta! Kicks Off at Six Flags Over Texas, Plus New Ride Refurbs & Park Enhancements Begin
¡Viva la Fiesta! takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates now through May 7. The event features vibrant decor, several live entertainment offerings and specialty food items. The park also continues to work on improvements as El Sombrero begins an extensive refurbishment, the Mexico section sees new theming enhancements, ride lockers arrive at Aquaman: Power Wave, a second Roller Coaster Coffee location is teased and more.

Ride Spotlight - Aquaman: Power Wave at Six Flags Over Texas | North America's First of its Kind!
Aquaman: Power Wave is the first ride of its kind to debut in North America. Built by Mack Rides, this high-thrill PowerSplash attraction features both forwards and backwards launches, reaching top speeds of sixty-three miles per hour. The water coaster also includes two spikes that stand at 148 feet tall and send riders plummeting ninety degrees. After multiple launches along the attraction’s 712-foot track, Aquaman: Power Wave ends with a huge splashdown.

Judge Roy Scream Reopens, New Restaurants & Food, Ride Lockers Coming Soon | Six Flags Over Texas
Upgrades continue to take place at Six Flags Over Texas, including fresh paint, more flat ride refurbishments, new dining locations and food offerings and the addition of free ride lockers to select attractions.
