SeaWorld San Antonio announced today that March 2nd will be the opening date for Catapult Falls. The highly anticipated thrill ride is the world’s first launched flume coaster and features the steepest drop in any flume ride. It also has the unique distinction of being the only flume ride in North America to feature a vertical lift.

Though Six Flags Over Texas has not made an official announcement (and may not), the new 2024 El Rio Lento project appears to be quietly cancelled. Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil El Rio Lento, one of the world’s longest log flumes. A makeover of the world’s first-ever log ride, El Aserradero, El Rio Lento will feature one new lift hill and two big drops, including a steep nosedive.

Today, SeaWorld San Antonio announced that their new Catapult Falls attraction will be delayed until 2024. SeaWorld sent the update to pass members, which states, “Our upcoming attraction Catapult Falls - the first launched, flume coaster in the world - is now expected to open in 2024. While we hoped to introduce this exciting thrill to our fans this year, sometimes it takes longer than expected to bring ‘firsts’ to life.”

The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld San Antonio takes place on select dates now through May 21. For 2023, SeaWorld touts forty-five new menu offerings with over one hundred flavors. Guests can enjoy quality bites and drinks from ten country-themed booths, including Brazil, Japan, Italy and Germany. SeaWorld San Antonio today announced the construction of a NEW water flume coaster, Catapult Falls, coming in 2023.
