The State Fair of Texas officially began in 1886 and has operated nearly every year since then. Running only a few weeks, the fair features over 277 acres of exhibits, rides and attractions, along with unique food line-ups and entertainment. This year's food offerings include the drowning taquitos, the new hammy pimento meltdown sandwich and the Strawberry Pop-Tarts beignetffle. Adventureland Amusement Park, located on Long Island, opened its doors in 1962 and was a product of the area's increasing population. Situated on only twelve acres of land, the park has an impressive showcase of over thirty rides and attractions. Adventureland features three roller coasters, including the rare Fireball, and Turbulence, a high-thrill spinning coaster. The park is currently in the middle of a $10 million project for their Legacy Corner area with Wave Twister making its debut in 2025.

Aquatica San Antonio, located at SeaWorld San Antonio, is a large water park that features rides and experiences for thrill seekers and younger guests. Aquatica is home to Ihu's Breakaway Falls, Texas' tallest drop slide, along with the new Tikitapu Splash, a multi-level play complex with slides and over 100 water-play elements. Opened in 1909, Fort Worth Zoo is located in Fort Worth, Texas and features 7,000 native and exotic animals. The Seven Seas Food Festival has made its way back to SeaWorld San Antonio on select dates from March 21 to May 27, 2024. This year's festival features over sixty fresh global cuisine choices, along with over fifty specialty beverages. Catapult Falls at SeaWorld San Antonio is a first-of-its-kind log flume attraction. The ride features eleven boats, holding eight riders each. After meandering through calm waters, Catapult Falls launches riders at speeds of 30 feet per second through the first splashdown. Soon enough, the attraction travels up a unique elevator lift and down a 53-degree drop, the steepest of any log flume.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, today announced new park enhancements for the 2024 season. One new ride, Sylvester and Tweety Pounce and Bounce, and one returning ride, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, will be coming to the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park Memorial Day weekend. A retheming of the classic Chaparral Antique Cars into Dino Off Road Adventure will follow later in the summer.

SeaWorld San Antonio announced today that March 2nd will be the opening date for Catapult Falls. The highly anticipated thrill ride is the world’s first launched flume coaster and features the steepest drop in any flume ride. It also has the unique distinction of being the only flume ride in North America to feature a vertical lift.

SeaWorld San Antonio is letting the good times roll as Mardi Gras returns to the park starting this Saturday, January 13 and running through February 25. SeaWorld’s Mardi Gras celebration transforms Texas’ biggest and best theme park into a jazzed-up, New Orleans-style atmosphere complete with live music, festive characters, and a Mardi Gras-inspired menu featuring both all-new and returning Cajun and Creole food favorites.

Aquatica, Texas’ best waterpark, will open Tikitapu Splash in 2024. This all-new multi-level water-play attraction is a combination of water elements and features that will include four exciting water slides, three giant bucket dumps, and refreshing splashes that come together to create the ultimate water playground. With over 15,000 square feet for guests to splash through, visitors can get soaked, cool off from the Texas heat, and romp through the interactive water wonderland. Ideal for the young and young at heart, Tikitapu Splash will provide plenty of fun and creative ways for guests to get soaked.

SeaWorld San Antonio's Christmas Celebration has returned and operates now through January 2. The original Six Flags theme park, Six Flags Over Texas, officially opened on August 5, 1961. Themed around the six flags that had flown over Texas, the park's original concept featured first-of-its-kind attractions, heavily-themed areas and a major focus on entertainment and guest experience. Six Flags Over Texas saw tremendous growth in the 1960s. Marquee attractions, such as the El Aserradero log flume, the Runaway Mine Train roller coaster and hundreds of thousands of dollars invested into entertainment, highlighted the decade. The premier Christmas event in South Texas, Holiday in the Park®, returns to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The Halloween Spooktacular is taking place now at SeaWorld San Antonio. This daytime, family-friendly event features several trick-or-treat stops, a hay maze, live entertainment and more. We also venture around for a daytime preview of the park's Howl-O-Scream event, which shows off haunted house and terror-tory locations. SeaWorld San Antonio also has multiple construction projects, along with the massive solar energy project popping up in the parking lot.

Carowinds theme park, which originally opened in 1973, is a unique attraction located on the border of North and South Carolina. The name Carowinds is in reference to the winds that blow across the two states. The park's original theme was centered around the history and culture of the Carolinas. Today, Carowinds is home to several high-thrill and record-breaking attractions, such as Intimidator and Fury 325. For its 50th anniversary, Carowinds debuted the Aeronautica landing area with a refreshed theme and several new attractions.

The Goat Coaster at Goats on the Roof opened in 2015, making it one of the original mountain coasters of the area. The attraction features a track length 3,061 feet and takes riders up the side of the Smoky Mountains. Reaching a top speed of nearly 30 miles per hour, the Goat Coaster can be controlled via manual brakes or riders can opt to travel as fast as possible down the mountain. The bonus? Visitors can also enjoy actual goats on the roof!

Hawaiian Falls Waco is a local water park in Waco, Texas that features a dozen water slides, an 800-foot lazy river, central Texas' first large-scale wave pool and several other family-friendly attractions. In 2023, Hawaiian Falls Waco was named one of the best water parks in the United States by The Edvocate.
