SeaWorld and Aquatica are opening daily for the 2023 Spring Break season beginning March 3, 2023. Six Flags Over Texas announced today that passholder previews will take place for the all-new Aquaman: Power Wave roller coaster on two weekends leading up to the ride’s grand opening. When it opens, the high-thrill Aquaman: Power Wave water coaster will be the first ride of its kind to debut in North America.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, announces the grand opening of one of the most highly anticipated new attractions of the year. The new AQUAMAN: Power Wave multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America and opens to park guests on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

This weekend, Six Flags Over Texas confirmed via Twitter the permanent closure of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. Harley Quinn Spinsanity officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018 as part of the park’s newer Gotham City area expansion. Harley Quinn Spinsanity featured a unique triple box design, creating the ability to spin around on three different axes at the same time.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas officially opened its doors on March 14, 1992 with a small collection of record-breaking attractions, such as The Rattler, and a plethora of world-class live entertainment. Though the 1990s, Fiesta Texas evolved with massive ride and water park expansions, the addition of several marquee roller coasters and even a new themed area. Join us for a trip through the 1990s as we explore the park's opening seasons, along with its acquisition and transformation into a flagship Six Flags park.

Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. SeaWorld is launching Passport to Thrills, an exclusive program for pass members. From now until May 14 pass members can opt-in and begin to qualify for exclusive access and bonus experiences just by visiting Texas’ Biggest and Best Theme Park, SeaWorld! The centerpiece of Passport to Thrills is Catapult Falls, a new attraction for 2023 that is a first-of-its-kind ride that is part coaster and part flume ride, with a vertical lift elevator leading to a steep drop and a water splash down.

2023 projects are in full force at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Recently, it was announced that, along with several new children's slides, the park's connected waterpark would also be rebranded. Demolition of Fender Bender is also under way, preparing for the addition of a new family racing coaster. Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Thrill Capital of South Texas, announces the return of the spectacular New Orleans-style celebration, the Mardi Gras Festival. Each operating day through February 26, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will “let the good times roll” as it transforms into a Texas version of downtown New Orleans, complete with beautifully adorned parade floats, special live entertainment, Mardi Gras-themed park décor and classic Cajun cuisine.

Universal Parks & Resorts announces a one-of-a-kind theme park, unlike any other in the world, specifically designed to inspire fun for families with young children. The new park concept, set in a lush green landscape and featuring immersive themed lands, celebrates Universal’s iconic brand of entertainment, humor and innovation and brings to life its beloved characters and stories in ways that will wow even the youngest theme park goers.

SeaWorld is putting its spin on the traditional Mardi Gras celebration by bringing the Big Easy to San Antonio with the SeaWorld Mardi Gras event kicking off on Saturday, January 14th. The entire park will be jazzed up for a New Orleans style carnival, complete with live music, extravagant costumes, Mardi Gras-inspired culinary specials including new, expanded and returning Cajun and Creole food items, alcoholic drink specials; in addition to thrilling rides and animal encounters.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas rings in the New Year, and says goodbye to their 30th anniversary celebration, with a massive 360° fireworks spectacular. We meet up with park president Jeffrey Siebert for a behind-the-scenes look at their extensive addition of children's water slides for 2023. We also take a look at other park enhancements in progress, including the new Starbucks coffee shop and first-of-its-kind family racing coaster.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2, with the Holiday Market being available until December 23.

Today, Six Flags Fiesta Texas introduced several new additions and upgrades coming for the park’s 2023 season. These include a first-of-its-kind family racing coaster from Skyline Attractions, a major water park expansion with new ProSlide raft rides and slides, several upgrades to existing rides and more.

Originally opened in 1973, Traders Village in Grand Prairie, Texas is home to Prairie Playland. This small amusement park is home to over a dozen rides and attractions, including the new Prairie Screamer roller coaster. Standing 90 feet tall, Prairie Screamer reaches speeds of 50 miles per hour with an 80-foot first drop.

ZDT's Amusement Park, a great family-owned park, is located in Seguin, TX. Opened in 2007, ZDT's is currently home to 13 rides and attractions, including the iconic Switchback shuttle coaster, water slides and extensive go-cart track. Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.
