SeaWorld Debuts Red, White and BBQ: Tastes of America Festival
August 9th through September 2nd guests can savor five different styles of BBQ from around the U.S. plus enjoy Country, Jazz, and Blues bands throughout the park.
SAN ANTONIO, Tx., (July 23, 2024) – SeaWorld San Antonio is thrilled to premiere its Red, White and BBQ festival showcasing the best barbecue from around the country. Beginning August 9 and running through September 2, guests can enjoy BBQ styles from Kansas City, the Carolinas, Texas, Memphis and Hawaii all while strolling the park enjoying rides and animal attractions. This inaugural event is the perfect blend of food, fun and entertainment and is included in SeaWorld admission every Friday through Sunday and on Labor Day.
Mouth-Watering BBQ and Live Entertainment
Barbecue is as American as baseball and apple pie and is a deeply rooted tradition across many states and regions —each with their own grilling technique, seasonings, sauces and the variety of meats used. Red, White & BBQ will offer an impressive array of BBQ items from five different regions, cooked to mouthwatering perfection at various grills stationed throughout the park. Hickory Smoked Wagyu Beef Brisket: Smoked brisket served with Texas baked beans with onions and green chili peppers
Short Rib: Cooked for 72 hours bone-in beef ribs served with southern-style butter beans and Texas toast
Slow-Cooked Beef Shank Sandwich: Toasted hoagie roll served with Texas baked beans with onions and green chili peppers
Memphis Dry Ribs: Hickory smoked baby back ribs served with creamy coleslaw
Porchetta: A boneless pork roast served with cheddar cheese cornbread
Huli Huli Chicken Thigh: Chicken dressed with grilled pineapples, jasmine rice and plantain chips
Burnt End Brisket: Smoked brisket until the tips develop a charred exterior served with Jalapeno cheddar cheese cornbread
Food enthusiasts can sample a variety of barbecue favors from around the United States with a food sampling lanyard. For just $30.99, guests can embark on their culinary journey with a 5-punch lanyard that is the perfect way to sample delicious eats. SeaWorld San Antonio Pass Members get the VIP treatment – when they purchase a 5-punch lanyard, they will receive two additional samples for free!
Not only will the barbecue festival be a feast for the tastebuds but also for the ears as the event will feature a diverse lineup of live music to enhance the festive atmosphere. Headlining the musical performances is a dynamic country band, known for their toe-tapping tunes and heartfelt country sounds. Adding a smooth and sophisticated touch is a jazz band that will bring their soulful jazz melodies and transport guests to Memphis, Tennessee. Rounding out the trio is a blues band that will infuse the event with raw emotion and electrifying rhythms, paying homage to the rich heritage of blues music. Together, these bands will create a rich variety of sounds, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of delicious barbecue and family fun. Guests are encouraged to get up and dance to these fun sounds as there will be three locations for exciting music plus line dancing throughout the day at Lone Star Lakeside Bar.
